Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Co. hired John W. Chandler as a senior vice president and chief marketing officer for its U.S. insurance group.
Mr. Chandler, 48, will be responsible for leading marketing efforts for the group. MassMutual’s U.S. insurance hroup includes the distribution, marketing, product management, finance, compliance, and operations for all of MassMutual's insurance products sold in the U.S., including life insurance, annuities, disability income and long term care.
Mr. Chandler was chief marketing officer at The Hanover Insurance Group, where he was responsible for business marketing, corporate communications and community relations.
MassMutual, which is based in Springfield, Mass., had $395 billion in assets under management at the end of last year. The announcement was made Thursday.
