Mellon Financial Corp. said Monday that Kenneth Barker, the director of quantitative analysis at Mellon Equity Associates, was elected to the board of directors of the Institute for Quantitative Research in Finance.
The institute, also known as the Q-Group, develops quantitative techniques to improve the global financial marketplace. It has more than 100 sponsor members, including banks, insurance companies, securities firms, investment consultants, investment advisers, mutual fund managers, state and private pension fund managers, foundations, and university endowment funds.
Before joining Mellon Equity in 1989, Mr. Barker was director of research at Triangle Portfolio Associates. Previously, he worked at Deloitte Haskins & Sells, Tektronix, Informatics, McDonnell Douglas Astronautics, and Rand Corp.
