In Brief: Mellon Names Head for Private Banking

Mellon Financial Corp. announced Wednesday that it had promoted David R. Misch to national director of private banking.

Mr. Misch, 48, was a director of corporate strategy and development for the past two years. Before joining Mellon in 1989, he worked at Lloyds Bank and PNC Financial Services Group Inc., both in Pittsburgh.

He reports to David F. Lamere, a Mellon vice chairman and the president of its private wealth management group, the company said.

With more than $78 billion of client assets, Mellon's private wealth management group has 60 offices in California, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Massachusetts, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Washington.
