HSAs let people establish tax-favored savings accounts for health-care expenses when they have a qualifying high-deductible health insurance policy.

The HSA products of Medical Mutual, a Cleveland health insurance company, can be opened by any person who buys a qualified high-deductible health plan either on his or her own or through a qualified high-deductible health plan offered by an employer.

Members may withdraw from their accounts using checks, a debit card, or National City automated teller machines.
