OneBeacon Insurance Group, a Boston subsidiary of White Mountains Insurance Group Ltd., announced Monday that it has entered the community banking and lawyers' professional liability markets.
The new business lines are being led by Craig Collins, vice president community banking, and Paul Ablan, vice president professional liability, the company said. Mr. Collins and Mr. Ablan and a small group of specialty-insurance professionals are to consider business from all states for community banking and select states for lawyers' professional liability.
Through its agency partners, OneBeacon plans to offer professional liability coverages targeting community banks with assets of $3 billion or less and law firms employing fewer than 150 attorneys. It also targets these customers with a commercial package, thereby offering comprehensive insurance solutions to them.
OneBeacon offers specialty and segmented personal and commercial insurance primarily through selected independent agents. It is wholly owned by White Mountains Insurance Group, whose subsidiaries' and affiliates' principal businesses are property/casualty insurance and reinsurance.
