In Brief: Oppenheimer to Offer Unified Accounts

Oppenheimer Asset Management Inc., a unit of Oppenheimer & Co. Inc., said it has partnered with Placemark Investments Inc. to launch a unified managed account platform.

Oppenheimer's unified managed account program will offer an array of investment managers and exchange-traded funds for investors with $50,000 to $500,000 of investable assets.

These accounts will be added to Oppenheimer's investment advisory service program, the unit said Tuesday. Placemark, based in Dallas and Wellesley, Mass., will be the overlay manager for the portfolios

Placemark, outsources unified managed account platforms. It doubled its assets under management from April to the end of November, to $4 billion, as more companies began to launch such platforms.
