Pan-American Life Insurance Co. in New Orleans has announced the appointment of Jose S. Suquet as president, chief executive officer and board member.

He succeeds John J. Kelly, who has been interim president and chief executive officer and will remain chairman, the company said on Thursday.
Most recently, Mr. Suquet was group president of Bisys' insurance and education services group. He resigned in April.
At Pan-American Life Mr. Suquet is to design and execute programs to broaden the company's presence in the U.S. Hispanic market through work-site marketing and senior market initiatives.
