Pioneer Investments, a unit of UniCredito Italiano, said Monday that it had appointed Giordano Lombardo deputy chief executive officer.
Mr. Lombardo is to oversee activities including investments, operations, and commercial activities. Dario Frigerio, the company's chief executive officer, is to deal with strategic issues, audit risk management, and compliance in addition to his new strategic role as head of the wealth management division of the parent bank.
A founder of Pioneer Investments, Mr. Lombardo was formerly global chief investment officer for the traditional investment business.
Pioneer Investments also appointed Marco Onado chairman of the group holding company, Pioneer Global Asset Management. Mr. Onado was a European economist. Pioneer Investments is a global investment management group with more than $166.8 billion of assets under management at Oct. 31.
