Piper Jaffray & Co. announced Thursday that it had promoted Scott LaRue to head of consumer mergers and acquisitions.

Mr. LaRue is to work with Murray Huneke, a managing director and head of the consumer investment banking practice at Piper Jaffray. He has more than 20 years of experience in corporate finance and investment banking. He joined Piper Jaffray last year as a managing director in its consumer investment banking group.
Previously he was a managing director at Credit Suisse First Boston in San Francisco, covering the food and beverage industry. He had been a managing director before that in the consumer group at Banc of America Securities, also in San Francisco.
