PMA Capital Corp. has promoted Lisa A. Hanssen to assistant vice president and assistant general counsel.

Ms. Hanssen is responsible for general corporate matters; corporate governance; and compliance with insurance holding company, employment, privacy, and other regulations, the company said Thursday.
She joined PMA Capital in 2000 and was a senior counsel. She began in 1997 at Cigna International, where she was corporate secretary until 2000.
PMA Capital, which is headquartered in Philadelphia, is an insurance holding company.
