In Brief: State Street Unit Hires U.S. Fund Director

State Street Global Advisors of Boston has made Nicholas T. Stanojev the director of U.S. public fund sales.

The investment management arm of State Street Corp. said Wednesday that Mr. Stanojev's hiring is part of an effort to become "the preferred provider of investment management solutions to the public fund marketplace."

Mr. Stanojev was a managing director and the senior account manager for Putnam Global Institutional Management. Before that he had been a senior vice president for institutional defined contribution sales and a vice president of institutional sales at Putnam Investments.
