TD Banknorth Inc. announced Tuesday that it has a deal to expand its insurance presence in central Maine by buying Boothby & Bartlett Co., an agency in Waterville.
The purchase, whose price was not disclosed, is scheduled to close in December. Boothby & Bartlett sells personal, commercial, and employee benefit lines of coverage from offices in Waterville and Fairfield. It has more than 10,000 customers throughout Maine. Its owner, Daniel J. O'Halloran, and employees are to remain with the agency and join TD Banknorth Insurance Group. Mr. O'Halloran is to become a business development manager in the TD Banknorth division.
The TD Banknorth insurance division operates four offices in southern and coastal Maine, as well as 19 sites in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, upstate New York, and Vermont.
