Univest Corp. of Pennsylvania in Souderton said Tuesday that it has agreed to buy Donald K. Martin & Co., a West Chester, Pa., firm that specializes in property and casualty insurance for commercial clients.
The deal would enable the Univest Insurance Inc. subsidiary to sell insurance products for individuals and commercial clients in Chester County for the first time. The Martin company also has a focus on the nonprofit sector. Donald K. Martin, who founded the agency in 1985, is to join Univest.
Univest Insurance is an independent agency that sells property and casualty insurance, employee benefits, disability and group coverage for individuals and commercial clients, and identity theft insurance in Bucks and Montgomery counties. It is headquartered in Lansdale, Pa. Univest Corp.'s flagship subsidiary is Univest National Bank.
