In Brief: Wachovia Names Investment Chief

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wachovia Corp. has named Steven H. Reynolds chief investment officer.

Mr. Reynolds, 56, is to head the asset management group in the banking company's wealth management division, the company said Tuesday. He succeeds Michael J. Tierney, who retired Dec. 31.

Before joining Wachovia, Mr. Reynolds was a managing director at Scudder Kemper Investments in Chicago, where he directed the integration of the Kemper equity funds into the Scudder funds. Previously, he was chief investment officer for Zurich Kemper Investments in Chicago, where he managed growth-, balanced, value-, small-capitalization-, and technology-oriented mutual funds.
