Wachovia Corporate and Institutional Trust said Thursday that it had hired Dama Stephenson to be the managing director of sales for institutional trust.

Ms. Stephenson, who will be based in Atlanta, joined Wachovia from State Street Corp., where she was the vice president of southeastern regional sales. Previously, she was a relationship manager at Commerce Bancshares in Birmingham, Ala.
Wachovia's institutional trust services group, which is based in Charlotte, offers custody, securities lending, securities processing, and settlement to support the investment needs of corporations, government and financial institutions, offshore corporations, and global organizations.
