The New York office of Willis Group Holdings Ltd., a global insurance broker, announced Friday that it had agreed to buy Nicon Forsakringsmaklarna AB, a property and casualty broker in southern Sweden that focuses on municipality clients.

The Helsingborg-based broker has annual revenue of about $1.5 million, Willis said in a press release. The deal's terms were not disclosed; it is expected to close Jan. 1.
Willis has operated in Sweden since 1991 and has offices in Stockholm, Gothenburg, Orebro, Karlstad, and Malmoe. It has about 300 offices in more than 100 countries.
