Zurich, the big property/casualty insurance company in Schaumburg, Ill., said Tuesday that it has appointed Steve Rand an executive vice president of commercial markets in its North America commercial division and Craig J. Fundum to succeed Mr. Rand as president of the Zurich programs business unit.
Mr. Rand's new post includes the construction, middle-market, surety, and Canadian commercial and energy casualty businesses. He has relocated to Schaumburg and reports to Axel P. Lehmann, the CEO of the North America commercial division.
Mr. Fundum is to report to John Lynch, the head of U.S. small business, and will relocate to Omaha in his role at Zurich programs (formerly Empire Fire & Marine). Most recently, he was the chief marketing officer for the North America commercial division, a role he will retain until a successor is named.
The parent Zurich Financial Services is headquartered in Switzerland.
