The Clearing House Association has spent the last year stocking up on lobbyists and researchers to bolster its role as a key public policy arm for the biggest banks. Coming August 8, it'll have another new hire.
Daniel McCardell, former Deputy Director for the Harvard Law School Program on International Financial Systems, will be joining the organization as its head of regulatory affairs, and working out of TCH's New York office.
Prior to McCardell's stint at Harvard, he was deputy director of the White House Office of Public Liaison, serving as a go-between for talks between the business community and the executive branch. In that role during the runup to the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act and the Troubled Asset Relief Plan, he previously worked for the Treasury and Commerce departments.
