KMG America Corp. in Minneapolis has announced the hirings of Tom Sass as a senior vice president of underwriting and risk management and Paul Moore and Paul Kraemer as senior vice presidents of sales.
KMG said Wednesday that it recently bought Kanawha Insurance Co., a life and health insurer in Lancaster, S.C. Mr. Sass was most recently a senior manager in Allianz Life's health-care and risk management division.
Mr. Moore and Mr. Kraemer are to work toward enhancing Kanawha's employee benefits division and its third-party administrator establishment by expanding distribution and increasing market share on both the employer-paid group insurance side and the voluntary payroll deduction side. Mr. Moore is in Irvine, Calif., and is to focus on building KMG's distribution. He worked the past 16 years at ING, most recently as a regional sales manager.
After 23 years as a regional vice president in ING's employee benefits division, Mr. Kraemer is to work from KMG America's Boston office.
