Ladenburg Hires to Expand Investacorp

Ladenburg Thalmann Financial Services Inc. of Miami has hired two executives from Ameriprise Financial Services Inc. to join one of its broker-dealers and start a financial services business.

Ladenburg hired Ted Jenkin and Kile Lewis as financial associates for its Investacorp Inc. independent broker-dealer unit. They will operate their financial services business as oXYGen Financial Inc., which they recently formed.

Mr. Jenkin was a group vice president for Ameriprise. He began working for its predecessor, American Express Financial Advisors, in 1991 and opened the company's office in Baltimore.

Mr. Lewis was a field vice president for Ameriprise managing offices in Ohio and Georgia. He began working for American Express in 1995 as a financial adviser in Dallas before running offices in Pittsburgh; Canton, Ohio; and Alpharetta, Ga. Ameriprise, of Minneapolis, was spun off by American Express Co. in 2005.

Mr. Jenkin and Mr. Lewis are co-chief executive officers of oXYGen, a financial and lifestyle management services company for the X and Y generations. The new company is based in Atlanta.

Ladenburg, which announced the hirings Tuesday, offers investment banking, equity research, institutional sales and trading, independent brokerage and advisory services, and asset management services through its principal subsidiaries, Ladenburg Thalmann & Co. Inc., Investacorp, and Triad Advisors Inc.
