Lawson Leaving Prudential to Rejoin Fidelity

Fidelity Investments hired Roger Lawson, an executive from Prudential Financial Inc., to return to Fidelity as president of its holding company, FMR Corp.

Mr. Lawson, 60, will rejoin the Boston company Aug. 6. He was a vice chairman at Prudential in Newark, N.J., overseeing the international insurance and investments division.

Mr. Lawson was a managing director and the chief executive officer at Fidelity's retail operation from May 1985 to May 1991. In his new post he will oversee Fidelity Employer Services Co., its retirement services arm; Fidelity Investments Distribution and Operations Co.; and Fidelity Technology Group.

Fidelity has $1.5 trillion of assets under management.
