MetLife Hires Accounting Chief

MetLife Inc. said Monday that it has hired Peter M. Carlson as its chief accounting officer.

He will succeed Joseph Prochaska Jr., who will retire from the New York company this year.

Carlson was an executive vice president and corporate controller for Wachovia Corp.

MetLife provides insurance, employee benefits and financial services in the United States, Latin America, Europe and Asia.
