Morgan Stanley Unit Makes Geneva Hire

Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management hired Mauricio Sanchez as executive director and head of Latin America operations in Geneva.

Sanchez reports to Ernesto de la Fe, the head of Latin America for Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management, and Francois Andriot, the chief executive officer of Banque Morgan Stanley SA.

Sanchez held senior management positions in operations, finance, administration and sales covering Latin America from Buenos Aires, Miami Montevideo, Santiago de Chile and Geneva for Merrill Lynch & Co.; his latest post at Merrill was head of Latin America for Merrill Lynch Bank SA in Geneva.

Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management, a unit of Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC, provides investment and private banking services to ultra-high-net-worth individuals, families and related institutions in the United States, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

Sanchez's hiring was announced last week.
