OCC Names New Head of Large Bank Supervision

WASHINGTON — Martin Pfinsgraff has officially been named the senior deputy comptroller for large banks at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency.

Pfinsgraff had been acting in the role for nearly six months before Comptroller of the Currency Thomas Curry named him to the position Thursday. Under the role, Pfinsgraff oversees more than 550 examiners who supervise 19 banks with assets exceeding $8 trillion.

"The supervision of large complex institutions is an extremely difficult and important function for the OCC," Curry said in a press release. "Marty has a strong mix of private and public sector experience as well as the kind of deep understanding of the industry's risk management issues to succeed in this role and to enhance the agency's oversight of the nation's largest national banks and federal savings associations."

Pfinsgraff joined the OCC in 2011 and last served as Deputy Comptroller for Credit and Market Risk. Prior to that, he was chief operating officer of risk management company iJet International.
