RBC Capital Markets, a New York unit of Royal Bank of Canada, announced that it has hired Deborah Freer as a managing director and chief operating officer for its U.S. operations.
She will report to Mark Hughes, RBC Capital Markets' global chief operating officer and head of global credit. Freer will be based in New York and work with Mark Standish, president and co-chief executive officer of RBC Capital Markets.
Freer was head of client integration for Citigroup Inc.'s global financing services business.
Before that she headed global client services for capital markets at Merrill Lynch & Co. Inc., where she worked for 20 years.
RBC Capital Markets announced the hiring of Freer on Monday.
