Roundup: National City Names Metro/Ohio Executive

CLEVELAND - National City Corp. said it named Philip L. Rice head of the Metro/Ohio division at National City Bank, Cleveland.

In his new role, Mr. Rice will report to W. Douglas Bannerman, head of National City's corporate banking department, and will be responsible for a loan portfolio topping $1.6 billion.

Mr. Rice had been a senior vice president, corporate planning, at National City.

He succeeds Paul G. Clark, who is moving to Pittsburgh to be executive vice president of retail banking at Integra Financial Corp. Mr. Clark will be one of four executives reporting to Integra president Thomas W. Golonski and will represent Integra on National City's Retail Business Board.

National City Corp., based in Cleveland with $35 billion in assets, is expected to complete its acquisition of $14.6 billion-asset Integra in the second quarter.
