State Street Unit Starts a Bond ETF

State Street Global Advisors, State Street Corp.'s investment management arm, has introduced the SPDR Barclays Capital Intermediate Term Credit Bond ETF.

The portfolio, which began trading on the NYSE Arca Exchange Wednesday, has an expense ratio of 0.15%.

State Street Global Advisors has managed fixed-income index funds since 1984. At Dec. 31 it had $270 billion in fixed-income assets globally, and SSgA Funds Management Inc., the adviser to the SPDR Barclays Intermediate Term Credit Bond ETF, managed more than $4 billion distributed among 13 fixed-income SPDR exchange-traded funds.

State Street Global Advisors had $159 billion of assets under management as of Dec. 31.
