SunTrust Names Delorier to Newly Created Consumer Banking Post

SunTrust Banks (SBT) has shifted marketing chief Rilla Delorier into a new role in which she will be oversee SunTrust's consumer banking strategy.

In the newly created position of consumer channels, sales and service executive, Delorier will be responsible for integrating the client experience across all consumer banking channels, the $175 billion-asset SunTrust said Friday. She will report to Brad Dinsmore, who heads consumer banking and private wealth management for Atlanta-based SunTrust.

Delorier joined SunTrust in 2007 and for the past five years Delorier has served as the bank's chief marketing and client experience officer. In that position she helped launch Sun Trust's "Lighting the Way to Financial Well-Being" marketing campaign. Chief Executive William Rogers also credited her with building customer loyalty by enhancing the bank's digital channel.

In her new role, Delorier will have "an even greater impact to enhance the client experience, advance our digital channels, grow the business and strengthen our company performance," Rogers said in a press release.

Delorier was named as one of American Banker's Top 25 Most Powerful Women in Banking in 2013 and was honored as a Top 25 Woman to Watch in 2011 and 2012. Her new role takes effect March 15.
