Urdang Hires Executive in Realty Securities

Urdang, a Plymouth Meeting, Pa., unit of BNY Mellon Asset Management, has announced the hiring of Liz Conklin as director of operations in its real estate securities group.

Ms. Conklin is to manage trading and operations at the subsidiary of Bank of New York Mellon Corp., it said on Monday. In this newly created post, she also is to be the liaison with external and internal auditors and work on compliance with regulators.

She was a senior vice president and director of technology and separately managed account operations at Managers Investment Group Inc.

Urdang, which was founded in 1987, manages institutional investment-grade real estate. It manages more than $2.2 billion of public real estate securities through Urdang Securities Management Inc. and $1.2 billion of private real estate investments through Urdang Capital Management Inc. for institutional and high-net-worth investors. It operates in global markets and in both public and private capital sectors.

The unit is one of 17 investment boutiques owned by BNY Mellon Asset Management, which has more than $1 trillion of assets under management.
