Van Kampen Adds Allocation Fund

Van Kampen Funds Inc., a unit of Van Kampen Investments Inc. of Chicago, has a new asset allocation fund.

The Van Kampen Global Tactical Asset Allocation Fund, announced Wednesday, invests in traditional and nontraditional asset classes and is designed to adapt rapidly to changing market conditions. It seeks "significant diversification" by investing in 1,500 to 2,000 equity securities and fixed-income securities of U.S. and non-U.S. companies as well as cash, commodities, and currencies.

Van Kampen had $84 billion of assets under management as of Nov. 30.
