Van Kampen Hires a Marketing Chief

Van Kampen Investments Inc., a Chicago asset manager, has hired Elizabeth Hughes Eginton as managing director and head of product and marketing.

In the newly created role, she will report to Jerry Miller, Van Kampen's president and chief executive officer. Ms. Eginton will oversee product management, product development, and marketing, the company said Monday.

She was a senior vice president and director of corporate strategy at Legg Mason Capital Management. Before that she had been a principal in the asset management practice at McKinsey & Co., where she focused on strategic initiatives for investment managers, private banks, and retail brokerages.

Van Kampen had $84 billion of assets under management as of Nov. 30.
