Ethics in artificial intelligence

AI promises enormous benefits for economic growth, social development and human well-being. However, the ethical problems of AI-based technology can pose significant risks for users, developers, humanity, and societies. As AI advances, one critical issue is how to address the ethical and moral challenges associated with AI. Dr. Tanu Luke, Head of Artificial Intelligence at U.S. Bank, explains that ethical principles must be integrated into AI programs deliberately and proactively – serving both as the starting point and the basis for continuous monitoring of all AI initiatives, whether new or in flight. Her message has increased urgency as the possibilities of AI continue to accelerate while many more customers have adjusted their behavior during stay-at-home orders and are becoming increasingly comfortable with a wide array of digital tools.
