When data security vendor Trustwave introduced its newest software, the mission seemed clear — help merchants keep abreast of Payment Card Industry data security requirements.
Earlier this year, Chicago-based Trustwave added a "to do list" feature to its TrustKeeper PCI Manager security and compliance cloud portal, essentially providing clients a way to track the important testing and security checks needed to keep a payments network PCI compliant.
Financial Transaction Services LLC, a provider of electronic transaction processing, apparently liked what it saw in the Trustwave software. The company announced July 25 it will offer Trustwave's compliance validation services to its merchant clients.
Highland Hills, Ohio-based Financial Transaction Services serves merchants, ISOs and financial institutions.
Trustwave's TrustKeeper PCI Manager essentially guides merchants through the compliance process, making the tasks "achievable for non-technical users," the company stated in a press release.
Because most small businesses don't have dedicated information technology teams, Trustwave's compliance services help merchants complete the required vulnerability scans on their networks, Doug Klotina, executive vice president of Trustwave, said in the release.
Last March, Trustwave acquired M86 Security to further develop its payment network protection by adding malware detection to the PCI compliance scanning process.
