The commerce platform offers real-time access to services and applications, including loyalty, incentives and gateway payments. Plus Taco John’s can use FreedomPay’s mobile app, Vibe, which brings mobile offers and payments to consumers' smartphones.

“The FreedomPay Commerce Platform is an important foundation for our plans to drive growth and increase the long term value of the business," says Jeff Linville, Taco John's CEO. "Our new platform will allow us to better connect with our customers in today's increasingly hyper-connected world."

The Vibe wallet launched in St. Louis, Mo. in January. Because FreedomPay’s wallet is new to the market, St. Louis offered a good spot to launch since competition is fierce in big cities, like New York and San Francisco. Universities in St. Louis are home to tech-savvy early adopters, FreedomPay says.

With FreedomPay’s reporting, Taco John’s will be able to target rewards to customers. The platform supports magnetic stripe plastic cards, EMV-chip cards and Near Field Communication contactless payment technology.
