Green Dot Begins Issuing 'Green Dot Bank' Cards

Green Dot Corp. said June 28 that, roughly six months after completing its purchase of Bonneville Bancorp, it has finished integrating it and begun issuing cards.

The integration allowed the prepaid card marketer to offer its first Green Dot Bank prepaid debit cards in June. Green Dot bought Bonneville in December for $15.7 million.

"For those who understand the operational complexity of retail banking and technology, the difficulty of such an integration project is well known," said Steve Streit, Chairman and CEO of Green Dot, in a press release.

Green Dot has also boosted its capabilities with other acquisitions, such as the April purchase of the location-based deals company Loopt. It also bought some assets of eCommLink, allowing Green Dot to take its processing in-house instead of relying on Total System Services Inc.
