SCVNGR's LevelUp now offers an app for Windows Phone users that want to use its mobile point of sale payment system.
The LevelUp system allows merchants to accept payments from consumers who display a two-dimensional bar code on their phone's screen to be scanned at the point of sale. Merchants do not pay transaction fees. Instead, LevelUp bases its pricing on a loyalty and marketing program designed to attract shoppers.
LevelUp already had an app for iPhone and Android phone users.
"With our user-base growing like crazy, bringing LevelUp to Windows Phone was an obvious next step," said Seth Priebatsch, LevelUp's chief ninja, in a press release Aug. 29. "Windows and Nokia were really proactive and supported us every step of the way in developing an app that's perfectly optimized for Windows Phones. The end result is a sleek, simple, fast LevelUp experience."
