A relationship between McDonald's Corp. and Seamless allows consumers in
Seamless' mobile payment app, SEQR, lets customers scan a quick-response (QR) code sticker at the merchant's point-of-sale terminal and enter a PIN to initiate a payment.
"Our work with McDonald's has been very successful so far, and we are very pleased that they have chosen to continue into full production enabling their guests in Sweden to pay quickly and conveniently via their mobiles," says Peter Fredell, president and CEO of Seamless, in a March 7 press release.
The pilot for the project was launched this past summer, with four McDonald's in the Stockholm area allowing customers to make payments through Seamless.

After a successful pilot, both companies say they expect most of the approximately 220 McDonald's restaurants in Sweden will have the ability to accept mobile payments before the summer.
