Parkmobile Adds PayPal Support

PayPal Inc. says it is now a funding option for the mobile parking-payment provider Parkmobile USA Inc.

PayPal, a unit of eBay Inc., says it works with Parkmobile in 20 cities as of Nov. 7, with plans to integrate with Parkmobile in more cities thereafter.

“Once you’re set up with your PayPal account, you can now pay and park in one click, making it extremely fast and easy to park,” Randall Davies, head of global business development at PayPal, said in a post to the PayPal blog.

Parkmobile, of Atlanta, recently added a Parkmobile Wallet stored-value account to allow Washington, D.C., motorists to load funds for multiple parking fees at once. The system, which is designed to cut down on per-parking transaction fees, is set to launch in other cities soon.

“PayPal has a history of partnering with mobile disruptors who bring value to consumers in their everyday life, and we’re thrilled to partner with Parkmobile to help take some of the pain out of parking,” Davies wrote.
