SelectCore Adds Online Bill Payment for Prepaid Cards

The prepaid card provider SelectCore Ltd. announced the addition of an online bill payment offering.

The Toronto-based company's bill pay service allows customers to pay bills online from the balances of their prepaid card accounts. It is promoting the service as an alternative to using check-cashing stores.

"Millions of underbanked consumers are not afforded the same financial tools that the majority of the population enjoys," said Keith McKenzie, CEO of SelectCore, in a press release. "We are dedicated to delivering new, innovative solutions that provide financial empowerment to an important demographic market."

SelectCore also offers balance alerts, mobile apps, card-to-card money transfers and other services.
