Payments processor Total System Services Inc. hopes to boost the growth of merchant-services provider Pivotal Payments Inc. by becoming a preferred service provider, the companies announced Jan. 10.

The Columbus, Ga.-based payments processor known as TSYS will provide authorization, settlement and dispute-resolution services for Pivotal Payments, which serves more than 60,000 customers and processes more than $10 billion in annual debit and credit volume.
