Virtual Piggy, which provides an online payment system for minors, said Nov. 29 that it has hired Joseph Dwyer as its chief financial officer.
Dwyer previously worked at OpenLink Financial, Energy Solutions International, Capstone Advisory Group, AXS-One, Synergen and Caminus Corp., Virtual Piggy said in its press release.
"I am thrilled that Joe has agreed to join Virtual Piggy," Jo Webber, Virtual Piggy's CEO and founder, said in the release. "We have worked together previously and I know firsthand the oversight, leadership and skill that Joe will bring to our financial structure as we move through this period of very rapid growth. I want to thank the outgoing CFO Scott McPherson, who has been with the company since our inception, for his excellent work in helping us grow to our position today."
Virtual Piggy's online payment system includes parental controls that allow parents to place restrictions on kids' spending. Merchants that accept Virtual Piggy require a username and password before accepting a payment.
