Visa Signs Overstock.com to Accept V.me <br />Digital Wallet

Visa Inc. now counts Overstock.com Inc. among the list of retailers accepting its V.me digital wallet.

V.me allows users to purchase items online with only a username and password, rather than typing a full card number to shop at each merchant.

“V.me adds yet another quick, simple and safe method to purchase on Overstock.com,” says Dave Nielsen, co-president of Overstock.com, in a March 20 press release. “Visa is a trusted and reliable brand that reinforces our commitment to our customers.”

Adding the Salt Lake City, Utah-based retailer brings the number of merchants accepting V.me up to 35. Other merchants accepting V.me include LivingSocial, Newegg.com, PacSun.com and StudentUniverse. More than 50 banks and credit unions have also forged relationships to enroll users with V.me, including PNC Bank and U.S. Bank.

“Overstock.com is a prime example of a top online merchant understanding the importance of a simple and secure checkout experience,” says Jennifer Schulz, global head of eCommerce at Visa Inc., in the release.
