FOTB's Selects Banking's Top Three Critical Congressional Races

Partner Insights from

SALT LAKE CITY — Friends of Traditional Banking's leadership teams have selected these three endorsed candidates for the 2026 cycle, choosing from the group's Top Ten CandidatesRep. Zach Nunn in Iowa, Sen. Jon Husted in Ohio, and Mike Rogers for US Senate in Michigan. Unlike most SuperPACs, FOTB does not run independent expenditure ads. Instead, they encourage their 50,000+ allies from around the country (like YOU) to donate what they can directly to these three fantastic candidates they endorse.

While there are plenty of great candidates in tight races each year, we have identified the three most critical races where we can help tip the scales and whose outcomes could be really good or really devastating for banking, capital access, and free markets in America. Read about each below, and then donate directly to their campaigns. Help us make an impact! This model has worked for over a decade, and with your help, it can again.

US SENATOR JON HUSTED (R-OH)

Jon Husted, Ohio's junior U.S. Senator since his 2025 appointment to fill JD Vance's seat, is a proven statewide winner as former lieutenant governor, secretary of state, and state House speaker. His 2026 special election against former Sen. Sherrod Brown is a pure toss-up, and polls show tight margins. Brown has high name recognition and fundraising, so Husted needs help.
Husted serves on the Senate Banking Committee and backs pro-growth, pro-industry policies. Retaining him ensures a voice friendly to financial services against Sherrod Brown's devastating record of open hostility to the industry.

MIKE ROGERS FOR US SENATE (R-MI)

Mike Rogers, Michigan's former seven-term congressman, House Intelligence Committee chairman, House Financial Services Committee member, FBI special agent, and Army veteran, is the Republican nominee for the open U.S. Senate seat. His 2026 race against progressive Democrat Abdul El-Sayed is rated as a toss-up with polls within the margin of error.

For the banking industry, this is a crucial race. Rogers has signaled interest in the Senate Banking Committee and brings a strong pro-capital, pro-economy record. Electing him ensures a reliable ally for banking against El-Sayed's progressive agenda.

REP. ZACH NUNN (R-IA)

Zach Nunn, Iowa's 3rd District congressman since flipping the seat in 2022, is a bright star as a former state legislator, Air Force colonel, cybersecurity expert, and National Security Council staffer. His 2026 re-election against Democrat Sarah Trone Garriott could go either way as the district has been highly competitive for years and is rated a toss-up.

Nunn serves on the House Financial Services Committee, was a CLARITY Act co-sponsor, and supporter of the Main Street Capital Access Act. Retaining Nunn ensures a strong voice for financial services, insurance, and rural banking against a progressive challenger.
