    Insurer, Regulator, Silver States To Meet On Turnaround Plan

    LAS VEGAS–American Share Insurance (ASI), the Nevada Financial Institutions Division, and Silver State Schools CU told Credit Union Journal they will work together this week to develop a plan to turn around the troubled credit union. Over the past week the credit union first announced its CEO, Dave Rhamy, had resigned to pursue his legal practice, and then within days abruptly announced Rhamy had returned to the job.

Several large grocery chains are piloting a "no checks policy," including Whole Foods market at certain stores in Arizona and California. Another chain, Fresh & Easy, dispensed with the pilot test and declared it would simply stop accepting checks altogether.

    CHARLOTTE, N.C.-Bank of America has filed suit against MGIC Investment Corp. In a complaint filed in the Superior Court of California for San Francisco, BofA is alleging that MGIC, a Milwaukee mortgage insurer, is denying "millions of dollars in valid mortgage insurance claims" the lender has submitted.
