EVANSVILLE, Ind. -- National City Bancshares Inc. said it had agreed in principle to acquire Union Bank and Trust Co., Morganfield, Ky.
The price, to be paid in stock, was not disclosed, pending a definitive agreement.
National City said the transaction, which requires approval from regulators and Union shareholders, should be completed in the first half of 1993.
Union's $61 million in assets would raise National City Bancshares' total to $545 million.
