Card briefs: In a First, Lebanese Bank Joins Visa ATM Network

SAN FRANCISCO - Visa International said Lebanon is the 90th country to join the Visa/Plus International automated teller machine network. By yearend, Visa and Plus cardholders will have access to Lebanese pounds at several Credit Libanais ATMs in Beirut.

The addition of the Credit Libanais ATMs brings the total number of Visa/Plus locations worldwide to more than 250,000.

Visa noted that Lebanon plays an important role as a banking center in the Middle East. Until now, Visa/Plus cardholders could get cash only in Bahrain, Jordan, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
