Surety Capital Corp Names Executive

Surety Capital Corp., Hurst, Tex., has promoted Bobby W. Hackler to succeed its founder, C. Jack Bean, in the remaining top jobs at the company and its Surety Bank.

The promotion will take effect Aug. 31, when Mr. Bean, 70, retires.

Mr. Hackler, 52, is now vice chairman of Surety Capital and Surety Bank; he will become chairman of both.

He will also become chief executive officer of the holding company-he is now its chief operating officer-and will remain president and CEO of the bank.

Mr. Bean, who founded Surety Capital in 1985, will remain a director of the company and bank, and serve as a consultant.

Surety Capital has $240 million of assets.
