In Brief: Deutsche Hires Well-Known Latin Analyst

Brent Erensel, one of the better-known analysts of Latin American banks, joined Deutsche Bank on Wednesday.

He will lead Latin American bank equity research for institutional investors and report to James Fitter, managing director and head of Latin equities.

Mr. Erensel will track about 20 banks, including Argentina's Banco de Galicia, Banco Frances, and Banco Rio; Mexico's Grupo Financiero Bancomer and Grupo Financiero Banacci; Brazil's Banco Itau, Banco Bradesco, and Unibanco; Colombia's Banco Ganadero and Banco Edwards; and Banco Santiago in Chile.

The 41-year-old analyst left UBS AG, which was formed by year-ago merger of Union Bank of Switzerland and Swiss Bank Corp., in February.
