In Brief: Chase Hires a Director for Global Trading

Chase Manhattan Corp. has hired a J.P. Morgan & Co. executive for its North American foreign exchange business.

Christopher L. Harvey joined Chase this week as a managing director in its global trading division. He fills a new position as head of sales and origination for foreign exchange and derivatives in New York.

He reports to David Puth, manager of foreign exchange and derivatives for North America.

Mr. Harvey spent 15 years at Morgan, including a two-year stint managing emerging markets derivatives sales and trading.

Chase's global trading division includes more than 800 professionals.
