BankAtlantic Names Executive

BankAtlantic of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., has hired Rene R. Maresma to manage its international lending department and Neil Murphy to be vice president and marketing information manager.

Mr. Maresma, who was given the rank of senior vice president, is to oversee the bank's lending and banking relationships with foreign banks, particularly in Latin America.

He had been chief executive officer of Intercredit Bank in Miami and before that held senior posts at several Miami banks. He was a senior vice president at Pine Banking Corp.; senior vice president at Ocean Bank; and vice president at Irving Trust International Bank, which was bought by Bank of New York in 1989.

Mr. Murphy is to review customer behavior patterns and develop research initiatives for the bank's core markets. He previously worked at Rockland, Mass.-based Rockland Trust Co., where he was an assistant vice president and market research analyst. Earlier, he held a similar post at Capital Bank in Miami.
